A Piece Of My Heart

A Piece of My Heart is a work with the music and soul of a tumultuous era in our history: The true stories of six courageous women sent to Vietnam and their struggle to make sense of a war that irrevocably changed them and of a nation that shunned them.

Written by Sheryl Lauro, 'A Piece of My Heart' is based on the true stories of six American women who served in the Vietnam War - four nurses, a Red Cross volunteer and a USO performer. When the women visit the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., 10 years after the war, they are forced to reevaluate their traumatic past. Through their stories, the play commemorates the courageous service of an estimated 11,000 women who were irrevocably transformed by that war.
