| Tuna Christmas has roles for numerous individuals, men play all the women's parts. Originally written for 2 actors, but ACT divided the parts to allow more than 2 people securing multiple roles, and not have to carry the entire show on their back. There is a part for males of every age group, race, ethnicity, and talent level ArtCentre Theatre is an Amateur Theater. We do not provide any pay, but we do provide costumes, props, set and a family atmosphere. |

* Thurston Wheelis & Arles Struvie: The local radio DJs at OKKK who provide the play's narrative structure through their on-air broadcasts. * Bertha Bumiller: A long-suffering mother struggling to hold her family together during the holidays. * Vera Carp: The town's social snob and leader of the "Smut-Snatchers," determined to win the local Yard Display Contest. * Petey Fisk: The mild-mannered and often unfortunate employee of the Greater Tuna Humane Society. * Didi Snavely: The no-nonsense owner of "Didi's Used Weapons". The Bumiller Family *Stanley Bumiller: Bertha’s son, an aspiring taxidermist recently released from reform school. * Charlene Bumiller: Stanley's twin sister, an angst-ridden aspiring actress. * Jody Bumiller: Bertha’s youngest son, who is often followed by a pack of stray dogs. Other Notable Denizens * Aunt Pearl Burras: An older woman known for her unique way of dealing with local blue jays. * Helen Bedd & Inita Goodwin: Two waitresses at the local Tasty-Creme cafe. * R.R. Snavely: Didi’s husband, who is frequently absent and obsessed with UFO sightings. * Garland Poteet: A soda distributor and one of Inita's many boyfriends. * Sheriff Givens: The local law enforcement official. While specific productions may vary, the 22 roles are traditionally divided between two performers who execute rapid costume changes. The classic split includes characters like Bertha, Aunt Pearl, and Sheriff Givens for one actor, while the other covers roles such as the Bumiller children, Vera Carp, and Petey Fisk. |
