The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio of Syracuse, arrive in Ephesus, which turns out to be the home of their twin brothers, Antipholus of Ephesus and his servant, Dromio of Ephesus. When the Syracusans encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, the arrest of Antipholus of Ephesus, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession. Note: The concept for this production is a more-or-less modern day Vegas with some retro flare. |

Egeon, a merchant from Syracuse, M, late 40s-60s- A traveler looking for his long-lost son. Has seen better days.
Solinus, Duke of Ephesus, M, 40s-70s- The man in charge. Mafioso type. Antipholus of Syracuse, a traveler, M 20s-30s- Son of Egeon looking for long-lost brother. Clueless tourist. Antipholus of Ephesus, a citizen of Ephesus, M, 20s-30s- Long-lost Son of Egeon and brother to A of S. Watching his previously secure life fall apart. Dromio of Syracuse, Antipholus of Syracuse’s servant, M 20s-30s- Even more clueless than A of S. Clowning/Physical Comedy heavy. Dromio of Ephesus, Antipholus of Ephesus’s servant, M, 20s-30s- Brother to D of S. Clowning/Physical Comedy heavy. Adriana, Antipholus of Ephesus’s wife F, 20s-30s- Real Housewives attitude. Luciana, Adriana’s sister F, 20s-30s- Similar to above, without the “wife” part. Falls for A of S. Angelo, an Ephesian goldsmith M/F- Think Pawn Stars. Courtesan, hostess of Antipholus of Ephesus at dinner, F-Perhaps more of a showgirl than lady of the evening Dr. Pinch, an exorcist, M/F- Will likely present as some king of stage magician, perhaps a David Blaine or David Copperfield. Magician skills are a plus. Also open to more of a Southern preacher interpretation. Lady Abbess (also called Emilia), head of a priory in Ephesus, F, 40s-60s- Secretly the mother of the Antipholi and wife of Egeon. Maybe an Elvis impersonator.
