MARY DEBENHAM – an English beauty, late 20’s HELEN HUBBARD – an outspoken American 50’s, well dressed with a touch of flamboyance HECTOR MCQUEEN – a nervous young American, 30’s, a strained, rather beleaguered face MONSIEUR BOUC – Belgian, middle-aged man of good humor MICHEL THE CONDUCTOR – Frenchman, 40’s quiet, almost grave sense of humor GRETA OHLSSON – Swedish, 30’s and plain, a frightened, sheep-like quality about her SAMUEL RATCHETT (doubles with Colonel Arbuthnot) middle-aged American business man, brusque, unforgiving.
