Francis Henshall | Male-presenting | 20s–40s - A lovable, chaotic, perpetually hungry former musician who finds himself working for two bosses at once. The comic heart of the show.
Rachel Crabbe / Roscoe Crabbe | Female-presenting / Male-presenting | 20s–30s - Rachel is smart, determined, and in love with Stanley. She disguises herself as her deceased twin brother, Roscoe, to settle unfinished business. Stanley Stubbers | Male-presenting | 20s–40s - A swaggering, upper-class criminal hiding from the police. Confident, dramatic, and completely in love with Rachel. Charlie “The Duck” Clench | Male-presenting | 40s–60s - A local gangster and Pauline’s father. Tough and intimidating on the surface, but deeply protective of his daughter. Pauline Clench | Female-presenting | 20s–30s - Charlie’s daughter and an aspiring actress hopelessly in love with Alan. Romantic, enthusiastic, and wonderfully naïve. Alan Dangle | Male-presenting | 20s–30s - Pauline’s boyfriend and an aspiring actor who approaches absolutely everything with theatrical intensity. Dolly | Female-presenting | 20s–40s - Charlie’s sharp, confident bookkeeper. Smart, independent, and more than capable of keeping up with the chaos around her. Lloyd Boateng | Male-presenting | 40s–60s - The owner of The Cricketers’ Arms and an old friend of Charlie. Warm, practical, and one of the few people who seems to understand what’s actually happening. Harry Dangle | Male-presenting | 40s–60s - Alan’s father and a somewhat pompous solicitor who takes great pride in his education and professional status. Gareth | Male-presenting | 30s–50s - The head waiter at The Cricketers’ Arms. Professional, proper, and increasingly surrounded by people who test his patience. Alfie | Any gender | Flexible playing age - An elderly waiter with a talent for turning even the simplest task into complete chaos. Ensemble performers will cover various minor roles throughout the production, including waiters, porters, police, taxi/bartender roles, and other characters as needed.
