Eleanor Vance | Female | 20s- Late 30s.
A confused, afraid, and gentle young woman. Previously served as her mother’s caretaker, she is now at Hill House for reasons she has yet to disclose. Mrs. Dudley | Female | 40+. The housekeeper and cook at Hill House. She keeps a safe distance from Hill House and is very proud of this boundary. Theodora | Female | 20s-Late 30s. Light-hearted and open-minded. She is believed to have a psychic sensitivity which Dr. Montague hopes will deepen his understanding of Hill House. She is free, bold, and open. Dr. Montague | Male | 40s-60s. An anthropologist with a belief in parapsychology. He has rented Hill House for the summer to further his studies away from the judgmental eyes of his colleagues. He is protective of the people he has invited to Hill House but is determined to learn its secrets. Luke Sanderson | Male | Mid 20s- Late 30s. A young man who is a member of the family that owns Hill House. He is sharp and has a charm about him—in another world he might be unlikable but there is something to him that seems fun and humorous. Mrs. Montague | Female | 40s-60s. She has her own ideas about the paranormal presence at Hill House and little regard for her husband’s methods or companions. She only trusts her companion Arthur Parker and is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery of Hill House using her own methods. Arthur Parker | Male | 30+. Mrs. Montague’s traveling companion. He is a brash, imposing man who only listens to Mrs. Montague. |
